Loyal ECR fans, attendees, and friends,
It is with the utmost regret that we announce the cancellation of East Coast Rumble 2016. Due to a failure of communication and organization on the part of the venue management, another event will be taking place in the space we had reserved.
Our VFW point of contact, whom we had been working with since October of last year ended his association with the lodge without informing us or placing us on the hall rental calendar. Having received the signed contract early in 2016 we continued to operate in good faith, assuming all was going according to plan. When attempting to confirm some final details with the lodge we were informed that they had not received our contract or deposit and knew nothing of the event. It was at that time were informed that the new management had rented the space to another client. As we have been unable to find an acceptable last-minute alternative venue by today, May 8th, we are devastated that we will not be able to bring you another year of awesome games with great friends.
Moving forward, we will begin processing refunds in full immediately. More recent registrants will begin seeing their refunds with 48-72 hours as Paypal refunds. Those of you who registered some time ago will be seeing your refunds as a Friends and Family transaction marked “ECR Refund”, since our system will not allow a one-click refund. and we need to process them by hand. If you have not received your refund by June 1st, please contact ECR staff at email@example.com.
We cannot apologize enough for the last-minute nature of this information, and do hope that we will be able to bring you more awesome events in the future. This has been the worst sort of learning experience for us, so be assured that nothing of this nature will ever be permitted to happen to any future ECR event. We are already discussing an October event, so please be on the lookout for future updates and we hope you’ll chose to play games with us in the future.
